Individual attention at group prices. Every other provider at this price gives you a class and a set of notes. Nobody checks whether your child in particular is getting it. We do, every month, by name.

What is included

Everything, for €149 a month

Two live classes a week

Mondays and Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 8pm, taught live on Zoom by our tutors. Not a recording with a chat box. A class, with a person teaching it, who can see the questions coming.

Every class recorded

Recorded and organised by topic, so a missed class is caught up in your own time rather than lost. It also means the night before a test they can go back to the exact topic rather than the whole year.

Weekly homework with video solutions

Set every week, with worked solutions written out in full detail on video. Not an answer key with the final number in the back. The whole method, line by line, so they can see where theirs went wrong.

A monthly assessment

Timed and marked, once a month. It is how progress gets tracked rather than assumed, and it is the thing that tells us a student is drifting while there is still time to do something about it.

A monthly one to one check in

Every student sits down with their own tutor once a month to go through that assessment. One student, one tutor, by name. This is the part nobody else at this price does.

Questions answered between classes

Stuck on a homework question on a Sunday night, send it in. They are not waiting until Monday to ask the one question that is holding up the whole exercise.

How the week runs

What actually happens, every week

Missing a class is not a problem. It is the normal case, not the exception. Matches, work, a late bus, a bad week. The recording is up and filed under the topic, so the week is caught up rather than written off. That is most of the reason the recordings exist.

The monthly check in

Once a month, somebody
sits down with your child.

One student, one tutor, by name. This is the part that makes a group class worth paying for.

They sit the assessment first

Timed and marked, on the topics covered that month. It is marked the way the real paper is marked, so the result means something before anybody talks about it.

Then they go through it, one to one

Their own tutor, their own paper, their own mistakes. Not a class average and not a grade in an email. The questions they dropped marks on, and why.

They leave with specific work

What to go back to before the next assessment, named by topic. A student who knows exactly which three things to fix is in a completely different position to one who has been told to study harder.

And we know where they are

Month by month, by name. Which is how a student drifting in a group of thirty gets noticed in October instead of in June, when there is still a whole year to do something about it.

Who it is for

Is this the right one?

It suits

Fifth year, sixth year and repeats, sitting Higher Level. Students who will turn up twice a week and do the homework, and who want the structure of a class rather than the silence of studying alone.

It also suits

Students who are doing fine and want to go from a H3 to a H1. The second class each week is the harder questions, which is exactly the gap between those two grades.

It does not suit

Junior Cert, Ordinary Level, or any year below fifth. Those need one to one, which runs for every year group from first to sixth.

And if the gap is years back

A student who is lost rather than behind usually needs one to one first, to find and close the specific gap, then the group to keep pace. Ask us and we will tell you honestly which way round.

Our tutors

Tutors who were
recently where they are

Our tutors are chosen carefully rather than taken on because they applied.

Carefully selected

We pick our tutors. Being good at maths is the easy part of the bar and the part everybody clears. What is harder to find is somebody who can explain it to a student who does not get it yet, without making them feel stupid for not getting it.

They sat this exact exam

Recently enough to remember how the marks are actually awarded rather than how the syllabus says they should be. They know the paper as it is now, not as it was fifteen years ago.

They have been stuck too

Every one of them knows what it is like to sit in front of a question and have no idea where to start. That is not a story they tell to be nice. It is why they can spot the exact moment a student stops following and go back to it instead of carrying on.

And they know the way out

They did not stay stuck. They know what it actually took to get from there to the top of the class, because they did it themselves and recently. That is the bit they are really teaching.

Your child gets one of them by name. The same tutor takes their monthly check in each month, so nobody is starting from scratch every time. If it is not working, tell us and they move to another one. It happens, it is not a complaint, and it costs you nothing.

The questions we get

What happens if we miss a class?

Nothing is lost. Every class is recorded and filed under its topic, usually up the same evening, so the week is caught up in your own time. Missing the odd class is the normal case rather than the exception, and the recordings are there mostly for that reason.

What does the monthly check in actually cover?

Your child sits down with their own tutor, one to one, and goes through the assessment they sat that month. The questions they dropped marks on, why they dropped them, and what to go back to before the next one, named by topic. It is their own paper and their own mistakes, not a class average or a grade in an email.

What is the monthly assessment?

A timed, marked test on the topics covered that month, marked the way the real paper is marked. It is how progress gets tracked rather than assumed. It is also what tells us a student is drifting in October rather than in June.

Is it the same tutor every month?

Yes. The same tutor takes their check in each month, so nobody is starting from scratch every time. If it is not working, tell us and they move to another one. It costs you nothing.

When am I charged, and how many times?

Nothing is charged on this page and no card is taken on any form on this site. Once you decide to start, it is €149 a month, taken on the same date each month, and you set that up here. The free class is free, with nothing attached to it.

Can we cancel?

Yes, any time. Email info@exceedmaths.ie and the next payment does not happen. There is no contract and no minimum term.

How big is the class?

Big enough that it is a class and small enough that the tutor can see who is quiet. If you want to know the exact number on the night your child would be in, ask us on the call and we will tell you.

Do you cover Ordinary Level or Junior Cert?

Not in the group, which is Leaving Cert Higher Level. For any other year or level, one to one runs from first year to sixth, Ordinary or Higher.

Can they do this and the Cork class?

Yes, and some students do. Ask on the call and we will tell you honestly whether you need both, because usually you do not.

Does my child need to be strong at maths already?

No. Most students come to us because it is not going well. What the group needs is that they will turn up twice a week and do the homework. If the gap is years back rather than this term, one to one first is usually the better order, and we will say so.
